Guest Quarters

The History of the Thalberg Estate
Completely private from the main house, the guest quarters are part of a legendary Hollywood estate. In the golden age of the 1930s, this stretch of Santa Monica was home to film royalty — and none more glamorous than Irving Thalberg and his wife, Oscar-winning actress Norma Shearer.
Designed by MGM’s legendary art director Cedric Gibbons — who also created the iconic Oscar statuette — the Thalberg Estate remains a symbol of classic Hollywood elegance. Today, the Academy’s highest honor, the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, still bears his name.
Whether you're here for a beach getaway or a taste of Hollywood history, the Thalberg guest quarters offer a truly one-of-a-kind stay.
